neglect

i have been so busy this month. I received my first commission this month for ten hen party invites with a classy theme (they are all professional nurses) related to winter.  I regret I did not take a photo but i was pleased with them along with the head hen.  I printed off turquoise paper with white snowflakes then used a glue pen and white glitter for sparkle.  The hen sentiment was in the bottom right hand corner with a foil turquoise snowflake attached.
They are off to a posh hotel for a spa day the week before Christmas (wedding is on New Years Day).
Have a good time girls.  They are Macmillan nurses - they deserve it.

Then my husband's best friend and his wife had the arrival of their baby so i came up with the following

and decorated the envelope too.
I am so addicted to jazzing up the envelopes and inserts at the minute.
The papers for this card and envelope are Pink Petticoat.

Then along came another baby called Molly.  I was asked by my mum in law to do a name frame and I am afraid I got a little carried away and did the frame then painted a ceramic duck money boxand decorated it too.
The new mammy loved it.  phew.

Again, papers are pink petticoat, the duck is from the local pound shop (my daughters fave shop in the whole wide world! - her words).
I added forever friends button stickers, glitter and ribbon.

The following is a card for a man who does fundraising for my hubby's charity http://www.shak.org.uk/
and we all went out for a lovely italians to celebrate.  I took a photo of the inside which was gingham to match.  It is a double layer card and I got the idear from The Clipart Fairy.

Below is my mums birthday card which is printed paper from Wilkinsons enhanced with lots of glitter, flowers and glitter trims(sure that is not the correct name lol)

and because my mum loves butterflies this is from her darling grandaughter.
Silver mirror card, pink petticoat papers, punched butterflies and lots of glitter.

wall hangings

I love making cards but by accident i made a wall hanging!!! it is for friends who are expecting their second child any day now.  Their daughter is going to move into her own room so baby will settle into the nursery so when i give baby a gift big sister will have a little gift too.  I love this so much that i made one for my daughter too.  I have a feeling i wil be making more ............ it was such fun to make. The papers and monograms are from pink petticoat and the flowers are actually hair accessories. I have an idea for anoher already!

doodle duck

My cousin is due her first baby next month so i just had to make this.  As she does not know if it will be a boy or girl i hedged my bets with pink petticoat paper although with the exception of the blue eye (button) it seems to favour pink with the pink ribbon, pink heart buttons and the pink heart shaped brad i used for the wing.  The template comes from the cutting cafe.

I spotted a challenge over on the polka doodle blog and as it is about nursery rhymes it seems appropriate to enter it in as "five little ducks".  I don't have any of the polka doodles products YET but i will definitely be purchasing soon.  Ssssssssh don't tell the husband :-} This is only the second challenge I have entered but i am enjoying it and may have the bug.

See you soon

Buttons and bows

I went to visit a friend on Tuesday who let me rummage through three tins of buttons (yes three).  I was in heaven.  I came away with some beauties.  I did not realise how much vintage buttons cost and I am so very lucky to have got my mits on these beauties

I have had two mothers day cards to make this week and I decided to make them identical - that way no rows lol.  They did not turn out as i had planned but I like the way they did turn out and i found two buttons in my new stash which matched the (free) papers i used from Summer Driggs perfectly.

I hope all you mums have a lovely Mother's Day
